bio

Jennifer Gallardo, but you can call her Jen, has always had a passion for computers and technology. As a kid, she played around with programming in Visual Basic. The dotcom era ushered in a new passion -- web design. Jen spent much of her high school years creating websites -- mostly for local musicians -- on a freelance basis. After high school, she entered New York University where she decided to major in Computer Science. While attending the liberal arts institution, Jen honed her skills in photography and other subjects besides technology. However, she did obtain a strong grounding in algorithms, programming techniques, and her main interest, web technologies. Since graduating NYU, Jen has remained in Manhattan working for a nonprofit company that supports the distribution of youth and social issue media. She works in their technology department as a Web Developer, assisting in the distribution of films via the web and the authoring of them on DVDs. Jen also supports the staff with all their technical issues including, but not limited to, support using Final Cut Pro, hardware installations, and disaster recovery (computer crashed...and fell through window, etc).

In case you wanted to know, Jen designs and develops exclusively on her Apple Powerbook. Once universal binary versions are released of the software packages she uses primarily, she will begin to transition to the iMac Core Two Duo.
